Transportation Service

Since 1985, the Greater Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross has provided transportation to essential, non-emergency medical appointments for qualifying community members in Hanover, Henrico and Chesterfield counties and the city of Richmond.  Our clients are unable to access transportation due to disability, limited income, or rural location.

Thanks to the support of the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg and our team of volunteer drivers, the Red Cross is able to provide transportation to our community members free of charge.

Help us ensure that community members are aware of the transportation services provided by the American Red Cross Greater Richmond Chapter.  Please spread the word in your workplace, neighborhood and congregation that the Red Cross may be able to help qualifying members of our community access medical care.  For more information, call 804.780.2298.

Help us ensure that community members are able to receive transportation services from the American Red Cross Greater Richmond Chapter. We are seeking volunteer drivers to transport clients to essential medical appointments.  Volunteers receive Red Cross training and use of a Red Cross vehicle.  In return, volunteers drivers commit to driving one day per week, Monday-Friday.  Individuals interested in volunteering with the Red Cross as a driver should call 804.780.2250 for more information.
