Disaster Services at the Greater Richmond Chapter
Each year, the American Red Cross responds immediately to more than 70,000 disasters, including house or apartment fires (the majority of disaster responses), hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents, explosions, and other natural and man-made disasters. On aaverage, the Greater Richmond Chapter responds to over 250 incidents and assisted about 1,000 local residents who suffered a disaster in some form.
Disasters can affect people physically, emotionally, mentally and financially. With the help of people like you who donate their time and money, we are able to help people prepare for, prevent and cope with all types of disasters.
