CBS 6 heard of the devastation that a Southside Richmond family was facing due to extensive fire and smoke damage to their home. Reporter Rob Cardwell aired several segments sharing the story with the station’s viewing public. The result has been a tremendous outpouring of help. The Red Cross had aided the couple with lodging in a local hotel and debit cards for food and clothing, but the extensive damage to the home made living there almost impossible. “CBS 6 went the extra mile and the public responded in their usual generous manner,” shared Chapter CEO, Reggie Gordon. “This family is an example of the crisis situations that our staff and volunteers face every day. The community’s support is critical.”
